I heard that Russ won't be able to make the first session due to commitments that weekend.  I'd like to suggest that we plan to meet the following Sat (April 13th) instead as I think it would be a lot better if everyone can be there for character creation.  That way we can all get to know each other and work out our characters so they balance each other.  Let me know if this works for everyone or if we need to think up an alternate plan.  Thanks!

I was planning on coming, I was just saying I would have my son with me.  I figured that if we were just going to be making characters and getting to know each other.  I thought that it would only be a problem if we were going to actually be playing.  If you want to postpone for a week then I would be fine with that too.

Sorry, that's my mistake, Russ. I thought you said you could only stop by as you had your son with you that weekend. I interpreted 'stop by' as five minutes and a quick hello. I didn't think you'd have enough time to make a character or anything. Oops! wink

So do we want to keep the date the same then, back to April 6th?

I guess it was a miscommunication.  I thought you said that it wouldn't be ok to bring my son to a game which I was ok with.  If it is ok to bring him by for a meet and greet/character creation then I am ok with that too.  Sorry if I didn't clarify that.

Again, sorry Russ. I thought you meant you wanted your son to play. My mistake entirely.

Well I'm glad we got that sorted out.  I'm going to take this to mean we'll keep the same schedule, so I'll see everyone on April 6th 10a over at Atomic Empire in Durham.

Wow, for some reason I had it in my mind that we were meeting this weekend.  I was way off.

It's getting close but we've got until after Easter weekend.  That gives you more time to peruse your lovely new book.

We ended up going to Atomic Empire anyway and picked up a bunch of miniatures.  I was going to pick up a book called Vornheim which is essentially a city-building kit but although they had it listed as in stock it was no where to be found on the shelves.

What kind of miniatures did you end up picking up?

I picked up some unpainted goblins, a female human ranger, a male dwarf ranger, a male halfling bard, and a ghost.  I'm trying to build up a bit of a collection but I also have a bunch of cardboard figures to use as well.

So do you paint them and if so how long does it take you?

I haven't painted miniatures since the 80's.  I'll let you know how it goes when I do.

I've read about the Vornheim kit, Russ. It's supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard, but I've yet to see the kit in person so I can't say for sure.
